As a visual artist, I create work designed to foster healing through the investigation of isolation and transition and the preservation and release of memories. I focus on painting, sculpture, printmaking, and collage, conveying texture and depth through layering techniques and carving.

The inspiration for my work ranges from mythology and German folklore to fashion and animals to religious iconography and rituals. I use these topics to consider the ideas of self-preservation, healing, memory, and what it means to be a female. Skulls make frequent appearances in my work; to me, they are transitional objects, moving from one form to another, one space and time to another. My art is often darkly whimsical in nature despite touching on more serious subject matter.
